Openreach Accelerates Full Fibre Rollout to 25 Million UK Homes

Openreach, part of BT Group, is pushing forward with one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects—bringing full fibre broadband to millions of homes.

The company is investing up to £15 billion to extend its fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network, with a target of reaching 25 million homes by the end of 2026.

This rollout represents a major shift away from older copper-based connections, offering faster speeds, better reliability, and improved performance for businesses and households alike.

Currently, full-fibre availability has already reached a significant portion of the UK, with regulators reporting that nearly 80% of homes now have access—up from less than 25% just a few years ago.

For businesses, this means better connectivity, faster cloud services, and improved digital capabilities—making reliable broadband more essential than ever.
